OUR TEACHERS

The founder and teacher at Bora Forró. As a follower and leader, she understands techniques and movements from both sides, which is not only creating a memorable dance experience but also helping her greatly as a teacher. In her classes she aims for easy to understand instructions with fun metaphors. She started dancing forró in Cambridge, UK, at the end of 2015 and started co-teaching in Kaiserslautern, Germany in 2016, In the same year, moved to Edinburgh, UK, where she started teaching forró herself with Bora Forró. 2017 she moved to Amsterdam, Netherlands, and is growing the Bora Forró community in Amsterdam.
With a passion for dance, Miguel found home spreading infectious rhythms across Europe. Dancing since 2000, teaching since 2015, he shares his knowledge about Samba and Forró with dedicated students, transmitting not only steps but culture and history through his unique methodology. Dance has always been Viktoria's passion, from ballet and hip hop to European ballroom dances. In 2019, she discovered Zouk, her first Brazilian couple dance, and in 2022, began teaching and fostering a Zouk community. Meeting Miguel Gomes sparked her Forró journey, where she continues to develop follower and leader skills with NewRoots.
Kevinn Costa, Started giving private lessons and performing in concert halls in Vitória, ES, in 2018. In 2019, he realized his dream by establishing the "Rasta Pé No Mar" school. Kevinn has also conducted workshops in various countries, including England, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Belgium, and Poland. He is grateful to be involved in what he loves and to be able to share his knowledge and passion with others. Kevinn's goal is to spread Forró far and wide, create a welcoming community, and provide new opportunities for others to engage in this cultural dance.
Andrezza and João have been dancing forró for 12 years and teaching for 9 years. Both graduated with a red cord from Pé Descalço school, João in 2014 and Andrezza in 2015, and they've been partners since 2018. Today, they work as independent professionals with a highly distinctive teaching method. During the pandemic, they offered various online courses, developing a unique methodology and didactics, providing technical content for both leaders and followers. In 2022, Andrezza secured 3rd place as a follower in the Fenfit dance competition, and in 2023, she claimed 1st place, with João earning 3rd place as a leader.
Marcos Affonso,turned professional at the age of twenty-two and invested in training courses in styles such as forró, Cuban popular dance, "samba de gafieira" and tango. In 2010, Marcos graduated in dance from the Federal University of Bahia and since then he has been teaching the "roots" and "university" styles of forró, as well as f.possibilities, including the interrelation of forró with other dances. He has also taught regularly and at important festivals in Europe, such as in Italy, Germany and Switzerland, in the cities of Rome, Turin, Milan, Genoa, among others.

OUR Musicians

Junior Dias, is an accordion player who also has a great deal of experience in music and has played in several bands, even in other musical styles. With his unmistakable swing, he has been setting the tone for his performances. He won the award for best accordion player at the National Forró Festival in Itaúnas in 2007 and best accordion player at the Mountain Festival in 2018. He also won the award for best lyrics at the national forró festival in Itaúnas in 2010.
Trio Maracá was created in February 2013 to bring together the best crop of musicians from Espírito Santo. The trio is made up of lead singer Wanderson Maracá, an experienced musician who has played in several bands and has two awards for best performer in 2011 and 2013 at the Itaúnas National Forró Festival. Wanderson stands out with a strong, striking voice characteristic of the great traditional Forró singers. Filipe Picoli, an experienced zabumbeiro who has played in several bands, has a strong and lively beat that gives the trio its energy. He won the award for best zabumbeiro at the 2013 Itaúnas National Forró Festival.
Originally from São Paulo, founder and member of the collective Discoteca Forró Veneno, he is also one of the authors of the web series "A história do Forró contada através dos discos de vinil" (The history of Forró told through vinyl records) which is becoming a reference for the dissemination and promotion of Forró culture! A researcher of rarities, in his sets he embraces forró de raiz but always travels among the most current music.
